She studied Spanish Literature at the University of Cambridge and Drama in Madrid and New York. During the 1980s, she worked in the New York theatre scene, primarily in Off-Broadway and with the Repertorio Español Theatre.

In 1987, she participated in the launch of Vogue Spain, where she served as deputy director (1989-1993). In 1995, she was appointed director of the Huerta de San Vicente, tasked with transforming it into a House-Museum and developing its cultural offerings. Since 2017, she has spearheaded the Federico García Lorca Center in Granada and directed its programming.
