She graduated in Liberal Arts with a major in Film Studies in New York. Back in Brazil in 96, Isabela worked mostly as an editor for TV and art videos. Her first feature film, Madame Satã was followed by other fiction and documentary films. Among others Cidade Baixa, by Sérgio Machado, with which she won the ABC prize for best editing, Ilusiones ópticas by Cristián Jiménez, Karim Ainouz’s Praia do Futuro and Lorenzo Vigas’ Desde allá, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. She has also worked as an editing expert for both Med Film Factory and DocNomads.
