Synopsis

Following his failed attempt to make a documentary, Shackleton turns that setback into a new film. Rather than reconstructing the Zodiac Killer case, he uses desert landscapes to explore, in essay form, the inner workings of true crime and what that non-existent film might have been and never was.

Charlie Shackleton is a nonfiction filmmaker who works across film, television, radio, and immersive media. He is one of the three members of the London-based production company Loop. His latest film, *Zodiac Killer Project*, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2025, where it won the NEXT Innovator Award.
