Lengua muerta explores what remains when words are no longer enough. José Jiménez follows a lone man, surrounded by a pack of dogs, in a landscape where the wind, the silence and the land seem to harbour a violence that never quite fades away. Without seeking to explain or bring closure to that past, the film lingers on what cannot quite be put into words and, in that obscurity, finds a precise way of approaching horror and its aftermath.
