Synopsis

Co-directed by Afioco Gnecco and Carolina Yuste, Este cuerpo mío documents Gnecco’s gender transition from the very beginning. The close bond of friendship between them turns this journey into a life path that highlights the importance of affection and care in each person’s life, while never losing sight of the fact that caring is also a two-way process. The honesty with which both filmmakers lay bare their ideas and vulnerabilities reveal the film as a gift they offer one another, but above all as a profound act of generosity towards the viewer and society. Director biography

Carolina Yuste

Carolina Yuste is a Spanish actress who won the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2019 for Carmen y Lola (Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018), and she has a solid track record in film, theatre and television. She made her directorial debut with HAMSIA (2020) and co-directed Ciao Bambina (2024), which won the award for Best Documentary Short Film at the Málaga Film Festival and was selected for a Goya Award. In 2025, she won the Goya Award for Undercover. She is currently co-directing Este cuerpo mío and is starring in Little Red Riding Hood in Manhattan.

Afioco Gnecco

Afioco Gnecco is an Italian-Chilean filmmaker who has been based in Madrid for 25 years, with a career spanning various fields of the audiovisual industry. After training in film, he branched out into photography, video art and directing actors. He is the co-creator of Indetectables (2017), an HIV awareness project, and the director of Transversales. His short film La acampada (2023) won the Silver Biznaga Audience Award and, in 2024, Ciao Bambina won the award for Best Documentary Short Film at the Málaga Film Festival and was selected for the 2025 Goya Awards. He is currently co-directing Este cuerpo mío, his first feature film.
