Synopsis

Cuerpo Travesía was a cultural mediation initiative run between October 2024 and May 2025 at Intermediae Matadero Madrid, under the direction of Javi Vaquero and Marina Santo. Through weekly sessions of movement-based practices, the project brought together migrants and asylum seekers in Spain to collectively explore their life experiences, their relationship with their bodies, their identity and their sense of belonging in a new environment.

The documentary chronicles this shared journey, highlighting the transformative power of movement and collective creation as tools for connection, remembrance and the construction of narratives that engage with the lives of those who migrate in all their complexity and humanity.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion and conversation with the artist Megane Mercury, the project’s creators, Javi Vaquero and Marina Santo, and Tommaso Marzocchini from Intermediae Matadero.
