Synopsis

For years, Xiana do Teixeiro has been collecting teens diaries from hundreds of women, building up an archive that champions a form of writing that has historically been marginalised. When shared, stories perceived as unique reveal emotional and narrative structures shaped by society. When read collectively, a revealing contradiction emerges: the shame that ran through those writings becomes care when those same acts belong to a peer. The film focuses both on what is written and on what is missing — crossed-out passages, torn-out pages — revealing that traces of female self-censorship appear even in the most private sphere, precisely where writing seemed to offer a refuge. Director biography

Xiana do Teixeiro

Filmmaker, producer, researcher. Her work seeks to foster transformative discourse from an ecofeminist perspective.
Co-founder of the production company Walkie Talkie Films (2008) and Animala (2024). Creator of the artistic research projects Proyecto Diario (winner of the BCN Producció Award and the Luisa Villalta Award) and Crías (premiering in 2026), a film adaptation of a teenage girl’s personal diary. Co-writer and producer of Salvaxe, Salvaxe (directed by Emilio Fonseca, winner of the Best Documentary Award at the Málaga Film Festival in 2024), an ecological-essay film that explores the conditions under which communities that refuse to submit to capitalist extractivism manage to survive in this anthropised Europe, delving into the relationship between image, gaze and interspecies justice. Winner of the X Films award at the Punto de Vista Festival for her project Carretera de una sola dirección (2016). Her debut feature film, Tódalas mulleres que coñezo (2018), is a multi-award-winning participatory documentary on public space, gender and violence that has been used as an educational and feminist working resource in several countries since its release.
