For the first time, the DocumentaMadrid Festival has a media partner of such high standing as RTVE (Spanish Radio and Television Corporation), an alliance with which the festival seeks to deliver on its commitment to creating new audiences for documentary film. As pointed out by Andrea Guzmán, co-director of the festival, "RTVE is a top-notch partner for DocumentaMadrid, both for its commitment and support for documentary production, and its commitment to culture in its programming."  .  

DocumentaMadrid includes in its program a special screening of Comandante Arian (2018) by Alba Sotorra, on May 18 at Cineteca Madrid. Getting hit by 5 bullets, commander Arian experiences the cost of war in the flesh as she is forced to redefine her role in the struggle for women's freedom.
