INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM COMPETITION

International films that have not been released in Spain and run for longer than 45 minutes.

  • Jury Prize, consisting of €10,000 and a trophy 
  • Special Mention of the Jury (Diploma).

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION

International films that have not been released in Spain and run for a maximum of 45 minutes.

  • Jury Prize, consisting of €5,000 and a trophy.
  • Special Mention of the Jury (Diploma).

FUGAS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

International films with no limits on duration. This section is open to new aesthetic proposals, experimental and hybrid films, and works that challenge the audiovisual languages and genres.

  • Jury's First Prize, consisting of €10,000 and a trophy.
  • Jury's Second Prize, consisting of €5,000 and a trophy.
  • Special Mention of the Jury (Diploma).

NATIONAL FEATURE FILM COMPETITION

Films produced or coproduced in Spain, works by Spanish directors with a run for longer than 45 minutes.

  • Jury Prize, consisting of €10,000 and a trophy.
  • Special Mention of the Jury (Diploma).

NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Films produced or coproduced in Spain, works by Spanish directors and run for a maximum of 45 minutes.

  • Jury First Prize, consisting of €5,000 and a trophy.
  • Special Mention of the Jury (Diploma).

 

AUDIENCE AWARDS

Both feature-length and short documentaries in competition may also compete for the following prizes, which will be awarded in accordance with the highest score and the number of votes given by the audience after each film’s screening:

  • Cineteca Madrid Audience Award for Best Feature Film, consisting of €5,000 and the film premiere at Cineteca.
  • Cineteca Madrid Audience Award for Best Short Film, consisting of €2,500 and the film premiere at Cineteca.


 

OTHER AWARDS

 

MOVISTAR+ Award

For Best Ibero-American Documentary Feature Film. The award winner will get broadcasting rights for the winning film in a time slot on the MOVISTAR+ group of television channels, as well as a trophy. MOVISTAR+ will be the judge of the winner, to be chosen on artistic and production values. The conditions for purchase will be the channel’s usual ones.

DOC-TAI Award

To an emerging filmmaking talent taking part in the National and Fugas and Short Film Competitions. The award will consist of consulting services from prestigious professionals for the development of the award-winning filmmaker's next documentary project. The jury will be made up of students in this year's Masters in Creative Documentary and Experimental Filmmaking at the TAI Arts University Center.

LENS Award

For Best Photography in the National Feature Film Competition. To be judged for coherent and innovative visual narrative. To be awarded €1,000. The jury is made up of the participants in Doculens, a three-year documentary filmmaking journey at the Lens School of Visual Arts. "

INSTITUTO DEL CINE MADRID Award

For Best Sound in the National Feature Film Competition, worth €1,000. The winner of this award will be decided by a Jury made up of 3 Professors from the Diploma Course in Sound for Film and TV, at the Madrid Film Institute.

SCREENLY Award​​​​​​​

For the release and on-demand theatrical distribution in Spain of a film participating in the National Feature Film Competition. The award will consist of a comprehensive consulting and guidance service, which will jointly define the film's distribution and communication strategy, the analysis and identification of the target audience and related communities, the optimal calendar for its execution, as well as its complementary non-theatrical distribution. The jury will be made up of Irene Visa, Raquel Tomás and Marc Prades, from Screenly's regular team.

FILMIN Award

The feature films competing in the National Competition will be eligible for this award, which consists of consulting and support from the Filmin team for its premiere on the platform. 

 

CORTE FINAL AWARD

This award is meant to provide aide to projects in their final phase of editing and post-production, with collaboration from major companies in the audiovisual sector.

  • Image Postproduction. To be granted by the post-production company Aracne Digital Cinema, worth €7,500.
  • Sound postproduction. To be granted by the sound production and post-production company DRAX audio, worth €7,000.
  • Service of adapting the film to online medium. To be granted by NUMAX and worth €3,500.
  • Economical Support and Consulting. €1,000 cash award, plus project consulting and free membership. To be granted by DOCMA association.
  • Subtitling. To be granted by the subtitling company 36caracteres.
  • Distribution. To be granted by the platform for film festival submissions Festhome.
