Le papier ne peut pas envelopper la braise

(Paper Cannot Wrap Up Embers)

Rithy Panh
90' / 2007 / France

The film shows us the life - and spiritual death - of a prostitute. The clearest sign of social breakdown in a country that has suffered decades of war is the way in which the bodies of the destitute are economically and politically exploited.
