Duch, le matre des forges de l'enfer

(Duch, Master of the Forges of Hell )

Rithy Panh
103' / 2011 / Cambodia, France

Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge regime caused the death of 1.8 million people. Kaing Guek Eav, alias Duch, was in charge of M13 prison for four years, before being appointed head of S21 prison camp in Phnom Penh, a terrifying murder machine that took the lives of 12,280 Cambodians. In July 2010, Duch appeared before an international criminal justice court. Rithy Panh records his words, in the isolation of a face-to-face interview.
