Synopsis

Based on the poetry of one of the 15 frames from the film Masculin Féminin (Jean-Luc Godard, 1966), Juana Dolores creates a work midway between video art and film essay, in which she plays a beauty queen who tackles concepts such as violence, work and love in relation to the eroticism in Georges Bataille.

Juana Dolores

Juana Dolores' work is based on the tension between ideologies and beauty. She has published Bijuteria. In video art and video essay she works from archival images, as can be seen in her pieces Limpieza (2020) and Santa Bárbara (2020). Miss Universo (2021) is his first piece of a more cinematographic nature.
