Synopsis

A film essay on Rocío (Fernando Ruiz Vergara, 1980), a film that was censored in the 1980s for pointing out one of the perpetrators of fascist crimes in Andalusia during the Civil War, and which still cannot be screened in its full version in Spain. Outtakes sets the 16-mm material that was discarded in the final editing against the legal arguments of the sentence and data from historical research into the genocide committed under Franco.

Concha Barquero Alejandro Alvarado

Concha Barquero and Alejandro Alvarado (Málaga, 1975), filmmakers, teachers and researchers, have formed a creative tandem since 2001. Together they have directed several short and feature films in the field of creative documentary. Among them is Pepe el andaluz (2012), awarded at Documenta Madrid and the Malaga Festival.
