Synopsis

A police squad stormed into a French neighborhood at night and shot a young man before ever checking whether he was even armed or had committed a crime. The act was recorded by one of the thousands of security cameras supposedly meant to protect citizens. Fleuryfontaine uses these images to point out the excesses of law enforcement and performs a stunning exercise in reconstruction by blending chronophotography and CGI animation techniques. The result is a resounding and disturbing study of the dynamics of violence and impunity going on behind our backs. A documentary that uses technological innovations to inquire into the information gaps left by authorities. (JHE)
