Péter Molnár repeats the same motion over and over, drawing tiny symbols with the obsessive patience of someone trying to hold on to something that always slips away. At his side, young Márton Tarkövi observes him in silence, recording every stroke, capturing every pause, every shadow on his face. Tarkövi makes a portrait of an artist immersed in his work, as an invisible bond gets revealed, intertwining observation and memories. Between the sound of pencil on paper and the unalterable passing of time, creation is revealed in its purest form. The digital and Super-8 images combine to establish a dialogue between conception and memory, an exploration in perseverance and doubt during a process where drawing and film reflect one other. In this place for contemplation, two gazes meet, with no need for words. (FDM)
