XV Festival Internacional de Cine Documental
Art is a liberating force for those who make it and those who see it. A freedom that gets curtailed when violence flares. In Mexico, eleven women are murdered daily, and in over ninety percent of these cases, impunity prevails. Through the testimonies of seven women, this documentary essay examines the issue of femicide and the devastation it inflicts on a nation and its culture. Because in times of horror, art cannot just stay the same; for every woman murdered, a museum or library in the world collapses.
