Synopsis

From the love story between trees and water come paper and words. However, what water brings, water takes away… With these words begins Errotatiba, an unsettling film that captures the ghosts of absence trapped in the abandoned spaces and objects of the Egin newspaper. The premises, the rotary press and its decaying archive of images conjure memories of labor and political experiences in the history of a newspaper that was shut down under anti-terrorist legislation. The lush vegetation grows oblivious to the spectres of the past and the water continues its course while the images invite us to revisit the closure of a newspaper that the Supreme Court later affirmed did not comply with the law.
