A summertime portrait in film notebook form about A Barca, an abandoned village in southern Galicia. A collective of filmmakers explores a rural space to reconstruct the shape it must have had before it was deserted, while at the same time, inhabiting it to make a film. They also visit a nearby town and see what people do there: a church, a cinema, octopus, the home of a collector. LIttle moves to get a close up look at the ways of life that resist matching contemporary life experience, focusing on the specificity of places, their forms and their rhythms. (LS)
Cinema Semente presents itself today as a collective of audiovisual creation, management and mediation in the rural environment. We seek to generate alternative contexts from self-management, to integrate them into the Galician cinematographic and rural ecosystem, and to encourage their decentralization, attention and diversity.
