Synopsis

It's Christmastime and eighty-year-old Mantoa is waiting in her small village in Lesotho for her only relative to return, a son working in a coal mine in South Africa. The news of his death erects a wall between her and reality. "The old and the new. Birth and death. An almost-ecclesiastical reverence for the earth ”. The words of self-taught filmmaker Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese moves along a film that makes each shot into a ceremony, a tribute, a bridge to the mysterious, the collective, the immanent. What is the meaning of life when life no longer has meaning?
