Die Beschreibung der Bilder

A traveling shot shows a series of houses built along a road. The voices off screen describe what they see, in so far as the wind will allow them to: what appears in the shot, what questions arise as they go. Starting from this little procedure, Die Beschreibung der Bilder is a study in describing things as a procedure, of both visible images as well as of people and moments not present. Descriptions get transformed into representations, in which the cadence of the voices, the strange rhythm produced by the words, make one wonder whether describing is even possible. (LS)
