Synopsis

With its exceptional compiling and editing of archive footage, the film accompanies an archaeologist on his search for remnants of the ravaged native past of the Canary Islands. Based on interviews with local people, on the customs that have persevered and what remains of the Guanche heritage, a reflection is made on the true, often hypocritical, side of colonialism and the perversity of many historiographical accounts that they have made up its anthropological imagery following the destruction of native cultures, to then mythologize them a posteriori. History is written by those who win. (AD)
