Correspondencia

In the footsteps of Jonas Mekas, Chantal Akerman, Víctor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami, filmmakers Dominga Sotomayor and Clara Simón struck up a correspondence with each other that would capture little moments from their lives. In their exchange, they reflect on memory, motherhood, family and film. In the final letter, the urgency of the situation in Chile invades the screen: “First it was a state of emergency, now it is a revolution. It's strange to be far away, stranger still to be talking about cinema”. In CORRESPONDENCE, the most intimate memories about the past get interspersed with committed concerns for the present day. (CB)
