After multiple lives, surviving jobs, long collaborations with photographers & artists, she and her friend Sophie Erbs created Gaïjin, a production company conceived to become a tool for autonomy. Her first film Nana (2011) won Best First Feature Film at the 2011 Film Festival of Locarno, among other awards. Her shorts, Ninouche (2012), Mamoushka (2014), Precious (2014), America (2013) have been shown at various International Film Festivals as well as in museums. Her second feature, Milla (2017), won numerous awards around the world - Special Jury Award in Locarno, Best Filmmaker FICUNAM, Best International Film in DOCLISBOA… She also received the Eurimages “Audentia” award for Best Female Director in 2017. Her work focusses on female characters. Their animality, their resilience, their relation to the world & nature. Built over time with each protagonist and fueled by empathy, her films play with the boundaries of fiction & fairy tales, realism & the magical, drawing on their own political poetics.
