He has been director of FICValdivia since 2014, the International Film Festival of Valdivia (Chile), one of the most important film events in Latin America since its founding in 1994. Since 2007, he has been on the Festival's programming team and in 2010 became its artistic delegate. With degrees from the University of Chile and Arcis University, he has worked as an academic in Film History at the most important universities in the country, in addition to being a professor of Cinematography at the Pontifical University of Chile. In the academic field, he has written a series of articles for specialized media, such as La Fuga, Fuera de Campo and Hambre Cine, among others, and is one of the authors of the book El novísimo cine chileno (2011-Editorial Uqbar). He has also worked as a film programmer at other prestigious festivals, such as the International Documentary Festival of Santiago (FIDOCS). He has served on the juries of the Mar del Plata, Karlovy Vary, Márgenes, FICUNAM, Olhar de Cinema, Rio de Janeiro, Transcinema, Costa Rica, among others.
