The Goose's Excuse
Synopsis

In this film that travels through dreams, from the earthly to the eternal, Egyptian audiovisual artists Abdo Zin Eldin and Mahdy Abo Bahat turn the focus to a farmer and his goose. From there, they set out to find the esoteric frequencies that inhabit their land. The necropolis in Cairo and the Sayyida Nafisa Sufi festival lead to the mystical ritual, enveloping us in a cinematic trance that gets enhanced thanks to precise framing and accurate editing. Will we ever solve the riddle of existence and fate? Obviously, we never will, but The Goose's Excuse takes us to that unfathomable abyss in a virtuous and luminous way. (JHE)
