Synopsis

A major blackout shrouds Cuba in darkness. The streets have become restless, uncertainty abounds. The glow of bonfires grows and the light stands as a symbol of the end of an era. Through a mother's story to her son, we learn of a vision that has been tormenting her for some time. Thanks to the rigor of its visuals and sound, History is Written at Night swings back and forth like a pendulum between reality and dystopia, calm and danger. (IG)
