Millán Luis Vázquez-Ortiz (Badajoz, 1978) has carved out an outstanding career in the audiovisual industry. Having graduated in English Philology from the University of Extremadura, he went on to get a postgraduate degree in Audiovisual Distribution at the Universidad Abierta de Cataluña in addition to writing courses, with a specialisation in History, Aesthetics and Documentary Genres at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. In 2000, he and Mónica Gallego founded and run Agencia Freak, a leader in the international distribution of short films and documentaries. During this time, he has been instrumental in creating and managing platforms such as Feelmakers.com and Uptofest.com, as well as the sales agency Feelsales. For five years he has also been the technical director for the Cineposible Festival of Extremadura. His commitment to promoting and disseminating cinema is reflected in his participation in various national and international film associations and events. In addition to being a member of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the European Film Academy, he has also helped produce documentary films and trained up-and-coming filmmakers at institutions such as the EICTV.
