Synopsis

Through the phantasmagoric visions that a thermal camera can offer, director Oscar Vincentelli reinterprets the ancient practice of bullfighting. He sets the tradition into motion (with Granados, with Goya) to observe the movements of these dancers of death and the many circumstances of their strange ritual. Dichotomies between the sadistic and the mystical, violence and fascination will emerge from their silhouettes. (MMF)

Óscar Vincentelli Chirimelli

Óscar vincentelli was born in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela, in 1989. Filmmaker and visual artist. His work is a cross between documentary films, experimental ethnography, contemporary visual and sound arts. He has made the films: O tremor, Lenda negra and Violeta + Guillermo. His works have been programmed in international festivals such as: Locarno Film Festival, San Sebastian International Film Festival, FIC Valdivia, Malaga Festival, D'A in Barcelona or Playdoc. His latest installation Se van sus naves was presented in Tabakalera in San Sebastian. It has been selected in the last edition of Berlinale Talents in the Berlin film festival 2020.
