XV Festival Internacional de Cine Documental
My current work-in-progress follows the five years quest of several Hollywood producers to convert a documentary of mine, Sherman’s March (1986), into a fiction film. During this time, there was frequently very little happening in Hollywood that could be filmed, so I found myself looking back through at my home movie archive and meditating on what it means that 32 years have passed since I made Sherman’s March. How has my life changed? Life in my homeland of the American South, where Sherman’s was filmed? The US as a whole?
I will present a selection of scenes from my ruminations and will be looking for suggestions from the audience as to how to find my way out of this morass.
