Bflecha

In a dimension where electronic music, contemporary R&B and the new sound of Atlanta get formulated, Bflecha establishes a base and sends out coordinates full of visual offerings that immerse us in pluralistic universes loaded with synthesizers and a discourse deeply rooted in the 21st century woman. In ExNovo (2021), its creator explores the limits between the physical and virtual person in hyperconnected times.  It is a utopian space at the crossroads of philosophy, science and poetry. Sung in Spanish and Galician, it makes a case for emptiness and silence, space for drawing one’s attention back in and listening with eyes closed. Traditional instruments like bagpipes and organic percussion collide with digital textures and simulations of virtual environments, highlighting the dialectic between what is human and machine, a metaphysics of contemporary humankind in search of the self during the fourth industrial revolution.

BFlecha is the alias of artist Belén Vidal. Following her works βeta (2013) and Kwalia (2017), Bflecha presented her third album ExNovo in 2021 on her label Arkestra Discos. Composed and recorded over the course of 2019, the album consists of 12 artifacts written and produced by Bflecha, again alongside Mwëslee as co-producer, and in collaboration with such usual suspects as Judah GT, Monkey's Cymbal and Lost Twin. This album makes a case for emptiness and silence, a space where you can't count, where statistics and algorithms have been abolished to draw your attention back in and listen with your eyes closed in order to dream again.
