In the fifth work of her series Distopías alcanzadas, Nayra Sanz Fuentes continues to reflect on issues of our present in an imaginative and very singular way. Pez volador takes the point of view of this animal that both swims and flies to highlight the annihilating presence of human beings in the environment, which leads to the disappearance of terrestrial biodiversity. Set in a delocalised region that could be any place, its careful visual and sound design appeals to our aggressive way of bonding with nature and confirms the great talent of the Canarian filmmaker.
