XV Festival Internacional de Cine Documental
A film made by four hands. A daughter and mother share a dark past: the former's eating disorders, the latter's lack of understanding. A seemingly unbridgeable gap gets closed with the creation of this work. Avoiding the clichés of family documentary films, it rises up in a resplendent display of trauma getting overcome by restoring affection, the challenge posed by standards in feminine beauty, and a bold formal proposal that ranges from personal film archives through to 3D and deepfakes. And most of all, just enough humor to get this personal story to conquer the universal. (JHE)
