XV Festival Internacional de Cine Documental
This film's backbone rests of footage rescued from oblivion, never seeing the light of day because of the painful testimony a dream surrendered. Heberto Padilla was a Cuban poet who dared criticize the regime, was imprisoned and then forced to retract his words publicly. The Cuban regime recorded the statement as an exercise in transparency, one that wound up backfiring against them. The result is an exercise in memory and subversion.
