Director of ZINEBI, International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao. She is a Phd holder and professor in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She has been teaching classes and carrying out management tasks for fourteen years for both undergraduate and masters courses. She is currently a guest professor for the Masters in Theory and Practice of Documentary Filmmaking at the UAB of Barcelona, where she is supervising the development and production of documentary projects and the Masters in Contemporary, Technological and Performative Arts in the Department of Fine Arts (UPV/EHU). She has been project coordinator of the multidisciplinary Territorios y Fronteras Research on Documentary Filmmaking.  She has been a member of the research group MAC (Mutaciones Audiovisuales Contemporáneas) at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She has done research at the School of Film/Cinema (FUC) at the National University Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) of Buenos Aires and been a guest professor at the EITCV-International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños. Her research, books and other publications mainly focus on contemporary documentary film.
