Documenta Madrid 2020 will be held between December 9 and 20 in a hybrid format, with most of the screenings concentrated in theaters until December 13, and until the 20th on www.filmin.es.

The Official Section of the next edition of the festival will have 3 sections, subdivided into the following competitions:

• International Competition.
• National Competition.
• Fugas International Competition.

The festival will also be featuring Parallel Activities and Retrospectives to round out its programming.

You can submit your film on the festival's website. The film submission period is normally from November to December inclusive

If you have submitted your film in a language that contains non-Latin characters, the easiest way to avoid mistakes when we reference your film is for you to send us corrected details for names, titles, etc. to the following email address: info@documentamadrid.com.

The list of selected documentaries will be announced on the festival's official website. Likewise, once the committee has completed the selection process, everyone of the participants shall be notified of the committee’s decision, whether it is favorable or not.

It is a text file that contains all the dialogues -or words- that appear in the film. With it, the work of the translator is easier.

In the Competitive sections, only films with the following formats shall be screened: DCP or high-resolution digital files.

The copies may be collected by their authors or they will be returned by the Festival’s organization by post to the address indicated for this purpose in the inscription.

The programming will be available on the festival website. You will be able to view it on the website or download a file containing the entire program. The festival catalog will also be available for download.

Publications from previous years can be purchased from the ticket office and at the Cineteca Madrid bookshop (Matadero).

The screening schedule will be available on the festival’s website roughly ten days to one week before the festival begins. You will be able to check the programme and schedule for the Official Section, the Informative Section, and the Parallel Activities.

Tickets for any of the film screenings scheduled for festival days can be purchased on the websites www.documentamadrid.com, www.entradas.com or at the ticket offices of the various venues during the festival.

Accreditations must be requested through the festival website   www.documentamadrid.com

The festival DOCUMENTAMADRID does not own the films’ subtitles. They are owned by the subtitling company that created them for the edition at which the film was screened. If you contact the festival, the organisational team will be able to put you in touch with the relevant company.
