Synopsis

In November 2003 we left to search for the remains of the Aral Sea. I was hoping to find answers to the question of the end of the sea and wanted to understand how people still survive in one of the most desolate places on earth, the only manmade desert in the world. I wanted to understand what it was like to overcome the death of a sea. We found a young generation who didn’t even believe the sea had existed and an older generation who could still hear the sound of the waves.
