Last Conversations was made from interviews that film director Eduardo Coutinho conducted with young Brazilian students before his death (in February 2014). The aim of these interviews is to understand how teenagers today live and think, what they dream about. The footage was edited by Jordana Berg, Coutinho's collaborator on Santo Forte (2000), and the final cut is by João Moreira Salles.
