Adela and Marcelino share an isolation that is common among many native speakers of an indigenous language in Mexico. Through dreams and memories that they have of their land and their people in prison, their two voices express the disorientation and need to fight against exclusion through telling their story.
Sergio Blanco
He studied Audiovisual Communication with a degree in Documentary Film Directing and Screenwriting from the Film Institute of Madrid. His post-graduate thesis, Dichosos los que sin ver crean was presented at the Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival in 2008. The following year, he moved to Mexico where he co-wrote the documentary No hay lugar lejano (2012). Since then, he has been in charge of making documentary short films for Aljazeera and Ambulante Documental, among others.
Michelle Ibaven
Born in Mexico in 1981. A Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences with specialization in Documentary Film Directing and Digital Cinematography from the Film Institute of Madrid, she finished her debut film No hay lugar lejano in 2012, which received awards including Best Documentary made by a woman at the Morelia International Film Festival and the Special Mention of the José Rovirosa Prize, from the UNAM film archives. In 2006, she directed the documentary Coyera, winner of the IV Intermón Oxfam International Short Film Festival.
