Two women, Nuhad, a 53-year-old from Syria and Angie, a 27-year-old from Lebanon, find themselves in a small apartment in Beirut, waiting endlessly for any opportunity to reach a better place.

Angie Obeid
Born in Beirut in 1988, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Film Directing and Script Writing from Notre Dame University - Louaize.
Since 2009, Angie has been working as producer, assistant director and editor on many documentaries for the Al-Jazeera Documentary Channel, in addition to several independent documentaries.
Angie is currently enrolled in a Joint Master’s Program, DOC NOMADS, delivered by a consortium of three European universities across three countries: Portugal, Hungary and Belgium.
I Used to Sleep on the Rooftop is her first independent feature documentary.
