Liste, pronunciado Líster

Xesús Liste emigrated to Cuba in 1918 and his story runs neck and neck with the century: in 1927 he joined the Cuban Communist Party and in 1928 he returned to Galicia. Prison and an unresolved harsh sentence drove him to leave for Moscow. On his return in 1935, he was responsible for antimilitarist work in the barracks of Madrid and then, suddenly, wars: civil, world, cold... a story of love and a tribute in La Havana, 1961. His biography is also a battleground between the old and the new in the short era of the Popular Front in Europe.
