Best Cinematography Award for Alberto Lobelle
The black granite of the Serra de A Capelada mountain range was formed by magma in the Precambrian period, 1.160 billion years ago. The rocks remained deep below the surface until they were lifted when the Pangea supercontinent broke up 200 million years ago, producing cliffs some 600 metres high. Homo sapiens sapiens appeared on the Earth 200,000 years ago.
Educated at the Escola de Imaxe e Son da Coruña (EIS), Alberto Lobelle combines his involvement in television series, adverts, documentaries and films with producing strongly independent work. In 2011 he directed his first full-length film, Matisse se escribe con dos eses, which was selected at DocumentaMadrid and Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival, as well as at other festivals. In 2015, his medium-length film Den Pobedy: Día da Vitoria, a found-footage documentary, had its world premiere at FIDMarseille. In 2017 he presented his latest piece, Paisaxes da Capelada.
