The kafeneios are an institution in Greece. Men spend hours in them, drinking coffee, beer and ouzo, smoking, playing cards, watching TV, sharing their concerns or just gazing out of the window. They seem to feel protected there and safe from the problems of the outside world.
This short film sets out to be more than just a portrait, by inviting us to reflect on the experience of filming and being filmed, on the way we show reality and the reasons that drive us to show it. Those men feel safe there. I feel safe filming them.
