S-21, La machine de mort Khmre rouge

( S21:The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine)

Rithy Panh
101' / 2002 / Cambodia, France

During the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, showing any hint of dissidence was enough to result in being imprisoned in "Security Prison" S-21. The film's cast talk openly about their experiences in that hellish place and describe the torture in detail. The former guards respond evasively and with excuses to the probing questions put to them by painter Vann Nath, who represents the thousands of prisoners who never emerged from S-21.
