97' / 2015 / France
After following migratory birds all over the world and surfing the sea with whales and manta rays, Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaudreturn to the big screen with a more familiar subject.
They take us on a journey back in time to rediscover all the European landscapes we have shared with wild animals since the last Ice Age. After an 80,000-year winteran immense forest suddenly emerged, covering the entire continent. The planet’s new structure led to a transformation: the seasonal cycle was established, the landscape underwent a metamorphosis, and the flora and fauna evolved while history commenced...
This apparently never-ending Ice Age gave way to lush green forests and the recently emerged Homo Sapiensspeciesgavethe countryside the appearance we know today.
LAS ESTACIONES(The Seasons) is an exceptional, thought-provoking tale that narrates the long and turbulent history that closely binds humanity to the animal kingdom.
