David, an English citizen,enrolls in the popular army to fight in the Spanish Civil War. The English militiaman falls in love with Blanca, an attractive anarchist. David and Blanca are convinced that they fight for the defense of freedom. They defend the ideals of equality between people and sharing land and property in a world without social classes. But sometimes the enemy is not only among the ranks of the enemy side.
