On the frontline, a group of soldiers is limited to writing letters or dozing. But the tranquility is broken when a speaker of the Nationalist Zone announces that, on the occasion of the celebration of the Virgin of August, a bullfight will be held in a nearby town. Five fighters from the Republican side decide to steal the heifer to spoil the party and get the food they need.
