For another year running, DocumentaMadrid shows its commitment to Spanish documentary film with the Panorama section, which will showcase 14 recently produced feature-length films. Virtually all of these will be screened for the first time in Madrid. The section includes a small selection of 5 short documentary films.
As always, we are very pleased to confirm and to be able to share the excellent quality of our documentary films with Madrid audiences.
In this section and through these films, we will discover not only the different realities of our immediate surroundings, but also those that are geographically – but not intrinsically – distant from us.
We will watch stories that tell of solitude, of love, of the fight for survival, of dreams… each of them recounted from a different perspective and in its own narrative style.
The 14 feature-length films that have been selected will compete for the prize given out each year by Canal+ for the best Spanish documentary, which consists of rights to air the film on the Canal+ television channel.
This year the films will also have two screenings. They will be shown in Sala Azcona and in El Plató, a temporary screening room that can hold 150 people which was first set up in last year’s edition of the festival. This year we will do the same, and almost all of the directors will be in attendance to speak to the audience after their films are screened.
