DOCUMENTAMADRID REACTIVATES THE PLATFORM OF INTERNATIONALIZATION FOR THE SPANISH DOCUMENTARY
06/05/15In their determination to support the documentary film produced in our country, DOCUMENTAMADRID aims to also serve as a platform for its projection towards the exterior.
In order to achieve that, the festival has reactivated a virtual space through which 40 professionals of different countries are able to access on demand screenings amongst the selected titles in the Spanish Overview, along with more Spanish documentaries released throughout the past year.
Thanks to the online service implemented for DocumentaMadrid by Movibeta, some of the key agents in specialized sales of the genre such as Cat & Docs, Dogwoof, Wide, Film Distribution or DocsNY and programmers of major international festivals like Cinema du Reel, SXSW and Hot Docs, will have access throughout the month of May, to 24 titles reflecting the juicy Spanish documentary production of this year.
Meanwhile, the Spanish Cultural Action (AC/E) supports this project with the festival through its PICE Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture promoting the presence of multiple developers on both sides of the Atlantic who are attending the screenings scheduled these days at Cineteca.
DANIEL RIBAS, programmer at the Porto Post Doc, RAUL NIÑO ZAMBRANO, programmer at IDFA and MALLORY LANCE, programmer Tribeca Film Festival have visited the festival. The accredited professionals will be able to set meetings to discuss, present projects or just share their experiences with the PICE programmers.
