The Juries, to be made up of professionals from the worlds of film, art, culture, and the public, who will participate by voting, will decide which of the films competing in all the Official Sections are to be granted the following official awards.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR FEATURE LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILMS
Aimed at films that run for more than 60 minutes in length, which have not been released in Spain, the nature of which gives priority to the narrative point of view, the information and/or social interest about the current conditions in our world.
Jury's First Prize, consisting of 10,000 € and a trophy.
Jury's Second Prize, consisting of 5,000 € and a trophy.
Jury's Special Prize, consisting of a diploma.
Audience Award, consisting of 3,000 € and a troph.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILMS
Documentary films with a maximum length of 30 minutes, which have not been
released in Spain and which do not form part of a series.
Jury's First Prize, consisting of 4,000 € and a trophy.
Jury's Second Prize, consisting of 2,000 € and a trophy.
Jury's Special Prize, consisting of a diploma.
Audience Award, consisting of 1,000 € and a diploma.
AUDIENCE AWARDS
They will be awarded in accordance with the judgements given by the attending audience by way of votes issued when the films are being shown.
CANAL+ Award to the Best Documentary Film
CANAL+ collaborates with DocumentaMadrid 2014 granting the CANAL+ award to the Best Documentary Film within the Panorama of Spanish Documentary Cinema Section. The award will consist of the acquisition of the broadcasting rights of the awarded film to include it in the CANAL+ broadcasting network programming, and a trophy. It will be CANAL+ who will choose the winner according to its artistic and production values. The acquisition terms will be the usual terms of the network.
Master IPECC Special Award to the Best Documentary Short Film
The award will grant the director of the winning short a complete scholarship for the III Master's Degree in Documental Cinema Direction and Production organized by the IPECC where s/he will have the opportunity of preparing his/her first feature film. The Jury for this Award will be made up of teachers and students from the current Master's Degree in Documentary of the IPECC. This jury will also take into account the short films included into the Official Selection.
