This is the tribute paid by Fernando Trueba to the singer-songwriter Chicho Sánchez-Ferlosio, member of the Spanish Comunist Party during the 1960s and son of Rafael Sánchez-Mazas, Falangist writer. The film shows the everyday life and thoughts of this special singer-songwriter, who had by then retired from the social and political scene. Chicho Sánchez-Ferlosio sings several of his own songs which became icons in the fight against Franco, but his new tunes reflect the place which the new status quo seems to have assigned to him: autonomy and independence away from the social and politica scenes.
